As the girls’ basketball season is just wrapping up, the team ended with 6-15 record, including their playoff game. While losing players like Hannah O’Day and Emily Oliver can be devastating, this team has been able to overcome this adversity with the help of six returning seniors: Isabella Joseph, Paige Silvestri, Dana Fann, Rachel Ferko, Katie Zuccaro, and Nayana Ravishankar. The seniors have provided the team with confidence and valuable experience. Aubrey Lair, a forward for the team who was forced to sit out for much of the season after injury, said, “we had a bit of trouble this year with our offense, but our defense worked pretty well for us.” Much of the team’s success is credited to their chemistry on and off the court. This chemistry was evident on senior night where they went head to head with Berkshire. The Hawks defeated the team by an astounding 26 points in their 45-19 showing. As for the future of the team, there is great talent seen in rising stars Taylor Smith and Zaria Johnson. While it is sad to say goodbye to such a great group of seniors, we look forward to the future of this team! Great work girls!
